Miss Sarah de Sousa

Master of Arts in Teaching, University of Southern California (May, 2012)

Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & minor in Education and Applied Psychology, University of California Santa Barbara

International Baccalaureate, Walnut High School

Over the course of 7 years, I have worked with numerous K-12 students. The experiences I've had as an individual and an educator shape my sociocultural and behaviorist methodology of teaching. I believe that students are naturally interested in learning. I also believe in differentiated learning. People learn in different ways – kinesthetically, visually, auditory – and it is the teacher’s responsibility to tailor to the needs of the students to keep the passion of education alive. I have high expectations of my students and make it my personal goal to ensure that all who cross my path improve their lives socially, morally, and academically. That is also why I enjoy working at A.E.C. Not only does A.E.C. recognize the need for academic success, but they also shape their students to become successful and responsible citizens.
