Free College Consultation
This is a free
20-30 minute consultation where one of the administrators help to develop a plan with the student. During the consultation,
the administrator will do an academic evaluation and see what the student needs to do or take in order to get into any colleges.
Getting into college is more competitive than ever, sign up for a consultation session to make sure your child is doing the
right things to get into college.

General Advice for High
School Students
General Advice for Freshman Year
· Make sure you take college preparatory classes (otherwise known as
the A-G requirement courses)
· Start to look into SAT I preparation courses
General Advice for Sophomore Year
· Register for the PSAT/NMSQT
· Take the PSAT (test is only administered in October)
· Take SAT
I (have at least 1 attempt by the end of the sophomore year)
· Begin visiting local community colleges, state universities, and independent colleges
or universities
General Advice for Junior Year
· Register for and take the PSAT/NMSQT
· If you are taking AP courses, make sure you register to take the AP Exams in Spring.
· Visit the colleges that interest you.
· Take SAT

SAT II Exams for the courses you have completed (toward the end of the junior year)
General Advice for Senior Year
· Review your list of target schools; make sure to include one safety
school in your list.

In early September, register for the SAT
I and/or the ACT.
· Take the SAT II Exams for the courses you have completed.
· All SAT I and SAT II exams must be taken before December of the senior year, colleges
only take exam scores up to that date.

APPLY! APPLY! APPLY! College applications
are usually due at the end of November.

December is an important time for "early
consideration" applications, merit scholarships, and deadlines for state universities.
· If you are taking AP courses, make sure you register to take the exam in spring.
