Academic Year Plan

Here at AEC, our academic programs and courses are designed to familiarize students with a wide array of disciplines. Our programs and courses are designed to help students apply their knowledge of different subjects among different grade levels.

Students need to develop and follow an effective academic plan if they want to become successful scholars. Make plans now! Our programs and courses are opened in multiple locations. Below is some information about our various programs and courses. 

 

After School Program

In our after school program, we provide a full range of enriching activities to help the students become stronger in their current school assignments. The program runs year round and our material is matched with the student’s school assignments. 

 

Open to students ranging from 1st to 9th grade

*New student enrollment for our after school program is accepted at anytime through the year.

 

After School Math Courses

In addition to our after school program, we offer math courses that are catered towards the area the student need additional support in. The math subjects that are offered in our after school program are: pre-algebra, algebra 1/2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus AB/BC. Each course is offered twice a week and is taught by a well qualified teacher. 

 

Weekend Courses

Easy Learning

Easy Learning program are available for: mathematics, English, science, and history

 

Our Easy Learning program is opened to students ranging from kindergarten to high school. The program consists of a curriculum from many recourses and practice materials. The goal of Easy Learning is for the student to build fluency with the subject and to slowly become more fluent and skillful in the subject area they are studying.

 

The English Easy Learning program covers reading comprehension skills, grammar, vocabulary, and reading analysis.

 

The math Easy Learning program will depend on the student’s current level. The program is available to students ranging from elementary math to algebra II.

 

Math and English

Our math and English courses are taught in a more structured classroom environment. These courses are more focused on the students’ area of need and are taught by our well qualified teachers.

 

Math:

We offer math courses for the following subjects: pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus AB/BC.

 

English:

The English weekend course teaches writing, reading comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary. There are two levels within the course: our first level is opened to students ranging from fourth to sixth grade. Our second level is opened to students ranging from seventh grade to high school.

 

Writing Course

The writing course focuses on the four major essay topics: expository, narrative, persuasive, and descriptive. The students will demonstrate competence in the general skills, strategies of the writing process, stylistic and rhetoric aspects of writing. The students will also use grammatical and mechanical conventions in written compositions and learn to gather and use information for research purposes. 

 

Chinese Course    

Our Chinese courses run from Level 1 to Level 9. The student’s level is determined by assessment tests. The program runs for 36 weeks from September to June. All of our Chinese courses are on Saturdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm or 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

 

Level 1 to Level 9 Chinese Course

The Chinese courses at AEC teach a multiple of areas, such as Chinese Pin Yin, Character Training, simplified Chinese core course, and traditional Chinese cultural study.

 

SAT/AP Chinese Saturday Course

The Saturday SAT/AP course prepares the student for AP Chinese classes, SAT II Subject Test (The College Board), and AP Chinese exams. This course focuses on teaching culture, pronunciation, Chinese characters, and vocabulary. Different strategies will help the student become familiar with Chinese listening comprehension, speaking exercises, reading comprehension, writing, and grammar exercises.

 

One on One Tutoring and Small Group Tutoring

These tutoring sessions are recommended for students who need more individualized attention on any of the subjects they are currently taking at school.
